Biophilia translates from Latin as, “love of life.”
Mahal is derived from the Philippine language of Tagalog as “love,” and represents the Studio’s love for nature, our planet, and the sustainability of its people and resources. In that spirit, Studio Mahal is committed to “giving forward” in donating to organizations that develop and implement sustainable resources to the world’s most vulnerable citizens.
As part of our vision to improve lives through sustainable technology, we are donating a portion of our sales proceeds to the Warka Water organization whose mission is to provide clean water to isolated, drought stricken villages around the world.
The organization’s Warka Tower is a stunningly designed structure that generates clean water from the atmosphere. The organization brings an ancient, yet cutting edge technology to remote villages around the world and helps them build their own tower. Using natural, local, and biodegradable materials, the Warka Water organization has provided and invaluable resource to some of the worlds most disadvantaged communities. In appreciation of that spirit, Studio Mahal honors these forward thinkers who demonstrate what design and function can truly achieve.
